And now we wait...

After months of planning, construction, sweat, paint, blood and tears, we are done.  I don't think the Barkers could possibly welcome a new baby without undertaking a huge project.  Yes, most think we are crazy with our lofty home improvement goals and few homes as "new" as ours have been worked on so much.  But Dan and I had big dreams for our first home when we purchased it as a new construction back in 2005.  While we didn't have the funds to make many of those visions a reality then, over time we have evolved our home right along with our family.

This time, we faced a floor plan dilemma.  When we purchased the house it was technically a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom home, but one of the bedrooms was situated toward the entryway with double French doors.  This was a great space for an office, for which we thought would suit our needs while we remained in the home.  At that time, we were sure by baby #2 we would be onto our next home.  But, after as much as we had put into the basement we really weren't ready to move quite yet.  And so, we sought another solution.  Moving a two year old Hudson to the basement bedroom was not an option and so the French doors came out, a wall went up and the doorway to Charli's room was placed in the hallway, right next to Hudson's room and across from ours.

It wasn't a simple project.  A lot of work went into it and a lot of "little things" turned into much bigger issues as we went along, but in short, it's done.  Done and ready and waiting for my sweet little angel.

It's so hard to believe It is almost time to meet our Charli.  Tomorrow evening I check into the hospital and After 9 long months of waiting I will first see the face I already love so much.

Stay tuned.  Just as last go around, I'll try to keep you posted!

*Thank you, Barks, for working so very hard o make sure everything was perfect for your little princess and thank you to my daddy who still drops everything to help his little princess.  We couldn't have made it happen without you.  Charli and I are so very lucky to have men in our lives that treat us like royalty.  :)
