day 7: farewell Disney

As I mentioned earlier, I think Hudson's "Disney detox" has been much smoother than my own!  But, I think I'm bouncing back and ready to fill you in on our 7th and final day at Disney.

Our final day, wew went to Epcot. (we don't know the people in the photo.  I was attempting to get a good pic of the park icon :) It was a chillier day than we had all week but we certainly didn't let that slow us down!   As we entered the park we first explored an interactive indoor attraction that allowed Hudson to run around and touch and see lots of fun stuff!  His favorite? The fire truck.  How do i know?  Prrtyy easy really.  This is him giving it a kiss.  Yet another sanitizer moment!  No wonder the kid had a cough!

Next, we went to checkout "the Seas" with all of our Nemo friends.  First up, "Turtle talk With Crush." Crush is one of our favorite characters from Finding Nemo.  Crush was a super cute animated show where Crush actually talked to the audience, told jokes and let the kids ask him questions.  Hudson didn't really get how cool it truly was, as to him, the cartoon guy is pretty real anyway, but I think the adults were pretty entertained and impressed!

Afterwards, we explored an incredible aquarium surrounding the Nemo attractions, full of all of our favorite marine life.  Hudson was in heaven.  Running around screaming "fish" and "shark" and of course speaking whale.  Yes, he is the whale whisperer!

Next, it was time for lunch, and It was no surprise that Nana once again hooked us up with a fantastic lunch with the aquarium fish!  Talk about spoiled!

With full bellies and. Happy Hud we went to finish off the Seas with the Nemo ride!  We rode clam cars through a black lit and computer animated adventure with all of our favorite characters!  Yep, Hud's mind was completely blown!

After the Sea, we trudged on to a trip into the Imagination with Figment, and then onto with Captain EO, an old school 3D adventure with Michael Jackson.  Although still not digging 3D glasses (he preferred to fashionable perch them on his head like mama does with her sunglasses), Hud happily watched and enjoyed dancing to the sweet MJ music.

Outside, Hudson was amazed and intrigued by the dancing fountains.  I have a short video that shows the smiles it brought to his face.  I'll post later.  Yes, I promise :)

After Imaginationland we stopped at "Ellen's Energy Adventure" an older ride, but a good one that featured... DINOSAURS!  Yep. It was just about as amazing as you can imagine.  His little jaw was continually in an open wide position, complete with accompanying dinosaur sound effects and looks to me, Dan, Nana and Granddad to make sure we were capturing this awesome sight too!  Hudson didn't even realize when the ride malfunctioned and we didn't get I finish the movie portion at the end.  Had we gotten trapped in the dinosaurs, and thy had stopped, I'm sure it would have been a much different story, but with the help of some gummy worms, Hud patiently awaited our escort off the ride.

After a ride brought "Spaceship Earth," Hudson made it apparent that it was time for a nap.  Yes, he's pretty subtle. :)

And with that, we ended our day at Epcot Round 6:00 and went back to the villa for nap time.

We let Hudson sleep til almost 9:00 and then we were off again!  Yes! You heard that right! We were off and back to Magic Kingdom! (yes, I have an amazing and wonderfully adaptable baby- I know, I know, this is NOT normal!- but more about that in another post.)

So, after a quick bite to eat we went to savor our last hours at Disney!  And so, we headed to Fantasyland, the one area we hadnt made it during our stay.

First stop was the Monsters Inc comedy show.  This one I though was pretty cute.  Much like the show with Crush it was a animated, but integrated with the audience for a more spontaneous show.  Hudson liked seeing the characters, but the humor was abit over his head.  He did, , really enjoy the lights!
Aren't they cute?

After that, it was off to another Toy Story adventure, an obvious hit!  Here's Hudson caged with Zurg.

Next up. The Carousel of Progress, an old ride that I really got a kick out of as it toured through past and looked to innovations of the future.  Hudson was pretty much just entertained by the dogs :) yep, sometimes it's the little things.

After that, we had seen all we wants in fantasyland and headed back to revisit a favorite, "it's a Small World.". Even though it was our third time, I think I could have riden it a thousand more.  The light in Hudson's eyes, the squinty dimply smile on his face and his sweet voice singing along is a memory I hope I can replay forever. I'm sure next time we visit, he will be too big, and tough to enjoy it with the same sweet innocence, favoring more scary "boy" rides.  And so, this time, I fully savored and ate up all of the sweet innocent Hudson I possible could!

After the iinnocent sweet fun we headed to check out the Haunted Mansion.  Well, and since Nana assured us they were "funny ghosts" we let her and Granddad ride with Hudson.  We certainly didn't want That on our watch!  Haha!  And of course, just like the rest of the trip, there shouldnt have been any worries.  He was completely fine, no cries, no screams, no expected toddler freak outs, just the Hud pointing and ahh-ing at each new thing he saw.  Have I mentioned yet how truly amazing he was on this trip? Oh, ok.  Yep.  I think I've mentioned that a few hundred times.

After the haunted mansion, it was closing time for the Magic Kingdom.  It was 1am and the Hud had managed to close down yet another park, like a champ!

We all hated to say goodbye, to such an amazing trip, such incredible memories and such quality time together!  It truly was a trip of a lifetime with memories we will forever cherish.

Thank you, Stan and Lisa for the memories, the fun and all of the love!

And Disney, we'll be back!!
