day 3: part 2

Alright, I'm a day behind already.  Whew!  It's tough work keeping up!

I did complete this blog, but just my luck, as I wrote the final line, my iPad crashed.  So, here's my attempt to catch you up before we head out again...

We sat at dinner awaiting the normals to appear but seemed it was their bedtime and no one was out.  Finally Hudson woke up, but exhausted from our days activities and confused to what time it was as it was dark now, Dan and Stan took him for a walk to run some energy and see if he could wake up.

Just then, Lisa and I looked up to find the zebras were being fed right outside the window.  Right in front of our table were four beautiful zebras grazing. But, of course, try as we might, we could not reach the boys via text or cell.  Soon, we heard the shrieks and squeals of a happy Hudson bolting toward us, his blonde mop bouncing! "Zs! Zs!" he screamed.  And so, he escorted us to the patio where the boys had witnessed the same scene, complete with night vision goggles for a clear view of antelope and giraffe, too!

Hudson was most definitely awake now, running, screaming, pointing, dancing, squealing, "Zs! Num num!" (Hudson speak for the zebras are eating!) he had a ball watching the animals and telling everyone all about it!  He even tried to get a sweet little girl to join in his happy dance, but as the Huds loudness can do, he promptly scared her away.

He didn't care.  He was thrilled!  For the next hour we watched the animals, explored the hotel, played tribal music in the gift store and rocked in large wooden rocking chairs on a deck overlooking the zebras. (Hudson escorted us each to where he wanted us to sit: Nana and Granddad next o him with daddy and mama on the opposite end of the deck.)

It was a wonderful evening full of animals, smiles and fun!  Thanks for sharing your birthday with us, Granddad! It was a night we won't forget! We love you!

*Please forgive the lack of photos, Dan took much better ones with his camera but for the sake of keeping up with the blog, you are stuck with my phone pics! :)
