day 6: let's get wild

Ok, I'm back.  Lets do this!

On Friday we started our day at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  Dan nor I had ever been to this park, so it was a new experience for all 3 of us.  We jumped right in and headed to the Tree of Life, an amazing attraction of a huge tree covered with carvings.  There we saw our first glimpse of the wild animals we would catch there, a couple of kangaroos.

However, Hudson was too enthrawled with the ducks to notice.  Here's him chasing his friends.

We first caught a fun 3d movie of a Bug's Life, one of Dans favorite movie.  Hudson gave his usual "Ahh" face, but this time, so did Dan.  Nothing make me smile more than seeing my boys happy.

After the movie. We traveled through "Asia" and onto "Africa" where Nana had planned yet on other extraordinary eating extravaganza, a character lunch!   After a quick music stop,
we were at lunch and greeted by Donald!  We stopped and had professional photos taken, which of course we purchased :),and then were seats inside.  Just as quickly as we sat down the characters began making their rounds.

The character lunch was an amazing opportunity to see the characters and get low of attention and photos.  Although hard to get reservations, I highly recommend it when traveling with little ones especially as the long lines to see characters can be daunting and take up precious time.  Good work, Nana.  Hud loved it! He also thoroughly enjoyed the dessert bar.  So much, in fact, he had a difficult time tearing himself away from his chocolate sprinkled donut when a Goofy made another visit to our table!

After lunch, we took a safari!  Hudson was amazed at all of the animals we saw and how close we were able to get to them.  Pictures really don't do this part justice as we saw such beautiful wildlife. I think the elephants and the giraffes were Hudson's favorites.  His poor little pointer finger had to be worn out from all it's use during our tour!

After the safari, we caught a quick bird show, which, I think we all thought was, well, pretty cool.

Next up, the Finding Nemo show, but as Nana and Gdad went to save some seats, we explore the Dino land.  Total heaven for the Hud.

The Nemo show was awesome!  All of us thoroughly enjoyed it and watching Hudson's face was another onof those all time great moments.  At one point, he even pushed himself off to himself so he could take it all in on his own.  His jaw was dropped the entire time, aside from the usual ahhs, ooohs, screams of "fish" and of course singing and dancing.

And here's Hudson with his prize after the show, hes found Nana is a sucker for him. :)  he dropped down and sat in the middle of the sidewalk, convinced we were going to open it right there and just let him sit there and play!

Sorry Hud!  There was more to see!  Next, was the Lion King show, a fun show with lots of songs, dancing, acrobatics and Hudsons favorite animals!

And so, that concluded our day at Animal Kingdom!  What an amazing day we had.  And despite plans otherwise, we decided to stay in with Hudson that evening to let him rest up and to treat his cough and cold.  No worries though, after a good nights rest, it was off  for more adventures!

Stay tuned, the fun continues!
